IMDx Announces Issuance of a Key European Personalized Medicine Patent Directed to Methods for Symptom-Based Disease Diagnosis

Cambridge, MA, January 2, 2010 - Intelligent Medical Devices, Inc. (IMDx) announced the issuance of European Patent No. EP 1397679 directed to personalized medicine for methods for determination of the cause of one or more medical symptoms in an affected individual.

The patented methods utilize multiple probes specific for targets associated with different known causes of one or more medical symptoms. Biological samples can then be screened in parallel across the probes and interactions are detected and analyzed to determine the cause of medical symptoms.

This technology provides a vast amount of information that enables rapid disease diagnosis and evaluation of treatment options. Symptomatic patients will benefit significantly from a faster and more accurate diagnosis using these methods
