For the third year, Dr. Alice Jacobs, CEO of IntelligentMDx, attended the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland in January 2009, where she participated in policy-advancing discussions focused on “Shaping the Post-Crisis World”. Dr. Jacobs also engaged in a panel discussion to raise awareness on the promise of personalized medicine.
The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2009 is one of the most important events in the Forum’s history. The significance of the Meeting is such that more than 40 heads of state and government took part. Combined with the number and quality of business leaders, this year’s participation is unparalleled in the nearly 40-year history. In addition, top level representation from NGOs, trade unions and experts from a wide range of other fields made this a unique gathering. The Annual Meeting not only focused on managing the current crisis, but also on shaping the entire post-crisis agenda from economic reform to climate change. The depth and richness of the leaders gathered at the Meeting provided a platform to comprehensively and collectively shape the global agenda.
Dr. Jacobs was selected to be part of the Forum Of Young Global Leaders (YGL) in 2006. This honor is bestowed each year by the WEF to recognize and acknowledge the top 200-300 young leaders from around the world for their professional accomplishments, commitment to society and potential to contribute to shaping the future of the world.
About IntelligentMDx
IntelligentMDx’s mission is to make FDA approved diagnostic kits. To guarantee quality for customers and partners we design, develop and manufacture tests under FDA Quality System Regulations and ISO 13485:2003 guidelines. These tests have been, and will be, designed to run on a broad range of molecular systems for clinical diagnostics, drug development and applied sciences.
IntelligentMDx’s competitive advantage is in the production of superior performing tests with significantly faster time to market than other approaches. Embedded in the approach is an intelligent technology that uses mathematical algorithms to predict test failure and simulate real life conditions such as contamination or genetic mutations, that would impact test functionality. IntelligentMDx’s current pipeline includes proprietary nucleic acid (DNA or RNA) tests for Real Time PCR. These tests cover a range of important infectious diseases and are designed to drive the clinical decision making process, maximizing impact on patient care.
