Alice Jacobs, M.D.

Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Over a decade of industry experience spanning executive management and corporate financing, Dr. Jacobs has developed a business with a robust intellectual property position. In 2011 she was named Best Entrepreneur for a non-service business of up to 100 employees in the eighth annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business. In 2009 IMDx was presented the Frost & Sullivan award for Healthcare Innovation, Clinical Diagnostics for Molecular Diagnostics and Scientific American named Dr. Jacobs as one of the top 50 innovators in science and technology. She was also selected by the World Economic Forum as a member of the Forum of Young Global Leaders. Dr. Jacobs is considered a thought leader in the area of molecular diagnostics and has been featured in IVD Technology, PharmaVOICE, Fox Business News, CNBC Healthy Horizons and the Boston Herald's Women in Business. Dr. Jacobs holds an M.D. from Harvard Medical School, a B.Sc. in Biological Sciences with Honors in Developmental Neurobiology as well as a B.A. in Art History from Stanford University.

Richard "Rick" Braddock

Rick Braddock is the Chairman & CEO of Fresh Direct. He previously held numerous executive positions, including President and COO of Citicorp, Chairman of True North Communications, Chairman and CEO of priceline.com, and Chairman of MidOcean Partners, a private equity firm. He also has several private investments in which he is active in various ways. Mr. Braddock graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in history, and received his MBA degree from the Harvard School of Business Administration.

George David

George David is the retired Chairman and CEO of United Technologies Corporation. He joined UTC in 1975 and was elected its President and Chief Operating officer in 1992, Chief Executive Officer in 1994, and Chairman in 1997. He left the CEO position in 2008 after 14 years and retired as chairman at the end of 2009. Mr. David has been recognized on numerous “Best CEO” lists, including those of BusinessWeek, Barron’s, Institutional Investor, IndustryWeek, and Worth magazines. During his tenure as CEO, UTC’s market capitalization rose from $6 billion to $76 billion, and its total shareholder return ranked first among the Dow 30 Industrials over most time periods. In 1999 Mr. David was awarded the Order of Friendship from the Russian Federation for contributions to that nation’s economy, most notably its aerospace industry. In 2002, France named him to its Legion of Honor. Mr. David obtained his undergraduate degree from Harvard and his MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School. He is a board member of BP, a member of The Business Council, and Vice Chairman of the Peterson Institute for International Economics.

Charles D. Ellis, Ph.D.

Charles Ellis is Founder and Director of the international strategy firm Greenwich Associates. He is a Director of Vanguard Funds and has served as chair and governor of the CFA Institute. Author of best-selling books on investment, he is an associate editor of The Journal of Portfolio Management and The Financial Analysts Journal. Mr. Ellis is also a Successor Trustee of Yale, a Director of the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research, and an Overseer of the Stern School of Business at New York University. A Yale graduate, he has a Harvard M.B.A. (with distinction) and a Ph.D. from NYU. He has taught investment management graduate courses at Harvard and Yale.

Michelle Facktor

Michelle Facktor is Founder and Managing Director of the merchant banking firm Renaissance Capital Group, Inc. In addition to her financial advisory work, she has been an active investor in a number of firms ranging from technology to consumer service and retail ventures and has served as a director for both for- and non-profit entities. Ms. Facktor clerked for a federal judge and worked at a corporate law firm following her graduation from Stanford Law School and prior to joining the predecessor firm of Citigroup, Inc. in the Mergers & Acquisition Group. She holds a degree in accounting from the University of Illinois (Champaign Urbana) with Highest Honors, is a CPA and member (inactive status) of the California and Illinois bars.

Leroy Hood, M.D., Ph.D.

Leroy Hood is President and Director of the Institute for Systems Biology in Seattle, Washington. He began his professional career at the California Institute of Technology, where he and colleagues pioneered four instruments that form the technological basis of contemporary molecular biology. He created the multi-disciplinary Department of Molecular Biotechnology at the University of Washington. He has played a role in founding several biotechnology companies, including Amgen, Applied Biosystems, SyStemix, Darwin, and Rosetta. He received the Lasker Award in 1987 and is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Philosophical Society, and the American Association of Arts and Sciences.

Eli Jacobs

Eli Jacobs is a private investor who has invested in numerous early stage businesses in a range of sectors including medical technology and biotechnology. Mr. Jacobs received a B.A. from Yale University and an LL.B. from Yale Law School. Mr. Jacobs is the father of Alice Jacobs, Intelligent Medical Devices’ Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Jerome P Kenney

Jerome P. Kenney serves as a senior advisor to BlackRock Financial Management. Mr. Kenney was a Vice-Chairman and member of the Executive Client Coverage Group of Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc., positions he held from February 2002 to August 2008. From 1990 to 2002, Mr. Kenney served as the head of Corporate Strategy, Business Development and Research, and oversaw Corporate Credit, Marketing and Government Relations at Merrill Lynch. From 1985 to 1991, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Merrill Lynch Capital Markets Group and as a member of the Board of Directors of Merrill Lynch. Mr. Kenney holds a B.A. in Economics from Yale University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
