Cambridge, MA - October 26, 2011 - IntelligentMDx attended the 46th Annual American Society for Microbiology Regional Meeting on October 26-27, 2011 at The Lantana in Randolph, MA, along with over 400 other attendees. A major focus of the conference was C. difficile infection and prevention, as well as emerging technologies in molecular diagnostics.
Dr. Heinz Reiske, the manager of Research and Development at IMDx, presented a poster entitled “NGENix™ powered target designs for the detection of toxigenic C. difficile strains NAP1/B1/027 and 1470”. The poster detailed the technology behind NGENix™, the proprietary bioinformatics platform built by IMDx for design of its assays. Specifications for the IMDx C. difficile for Abbott m2000 assay, including limit of detection, sensitivity and specificity, cross-reactivity, and reproducibility were described in detail on the poster.
The IMDx C. difficile for Abbott m2000 assay is CE-marked and available for sale at www.AbbottMolecular.com
