IMDx Announces Issuance in Japan of a Key Personalized Medicine Patent Directed to Methods for Symptom-Based Diagnosis

Cambridge, MA, November 12, 2008 - Intelligent Medical Devices, Inc. (IMDx) announced the issuance of Japanese Patent No. JP 4,179,876 directed to personalized medicine for methods for determination of the cause of one or more medical symptoms in an affected individual.

The patented methods utilize multiple probes specific for targets, such as infectious agents and genetic markers, associated with different known causes of one or more medical symptoms. Biological samples can then be screened in parallel across the probes and interactions are detected and analyzed to determine the cause of medical symptoms.
