IntelligentMDx appoints Richard Whitley, M.D. as an advisor
IntelligentMDx announced the appointment of Richard Whitley, M.D. as an advisor to the company. Dr. Whitley will advise the company on matters related to molecular diagnostic test development, clinical testing, and general clinical application of IntelligentMDx developed diagnostic tests. Previously, Dr. Whitley has been in collaboration with IntelligentMDx and has presented evaluations of IntelligentMDx diagnostic tests. “We are excited to welcome Dr. Whitley as an advisor to IntelligentMDx. We believe Dr. Whitley will be an excellent advisor on clinical matters and will help IntelligentMDx focus it’s proprietary molecular test development platform to areas of highest clinical relevance,” said Alice Jacobs, M.D., Chairman and CEO of IntelligentMDx.
Dr. Whitley is a world renowned clinical expert in infectious disease and holds a number of leadership service titles at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, including Distinguished Professor and Vice-Chair of the Department of Pediatrics, Director of the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Loeb Scholar in Pediatrics. Additionally, Dr. Whitley sits on the board of Gilead Sciences, is the Chair of the Board of Scientific Councilors for the National Center for Infectious Diseases of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP), and is Vice President of the Board of the Infectious Disease Society of America.
